The Decompression Sessions:
A Communal Wind Down
The Decompression Sessions began in June 2020 as a response to the racial unrest around the killing of George Floyd. We gathered to breathe, release stress and hold our emotions as a collective.
In the months since, we have gathered for this intimate, 30-minute check-in session on a regular basis, usually in the evenings, as a way to unwind from our daily stress.
Each session includes:
10 minute group check-in
10 minutes of journaling
10 minutes of breathwork
Closing with an affirmation to affirm the experience

Attendance at the Decompression Sessions is based on a pay-what-you-can model. Your donation covers the facilitators’ time, Zoom and marketing. Make your donation below and a Zoom link for the February Decompression Session will be emailed to you immediately.
Studies have shown that regular breathwork can relieve anxiety and stress, and elevate mood. Journaling helps you recognize patterns of negative thoughts and behaviors, improve positive self-talk, and set positive goals for your wellness and mental health. Coupling breathwork + journaling together in a guided session gives all attendees the benefits of both.
