Who is this retreat for?
This retreat is for self-identified black women. While all women are invited to other events of the Self Care Suite, this specific retreat has been crafted as a necessary space for black women to feel comfortable amongst women with shared experiences. Thank you in advance for honoring our intention!
We are also an intergenerational community, which means women of all ages are welcome to join us. We typically have women from their 20s through their 60s accompany us on our trip!
What does ticket price cover?
Our welcome reception, where you get to meet other attendees and nibble on light refreshments; breakfast and lunch most days
hands-on sessions and workshops from highly respected self-care experts + therapists
a deluxe swag bag
a group activity (in previous years we’ve taken a pole dancing class or held a group photo shoot)
access to The Self-Care Sessions, a three-week course that reinforces everything you learned during the weekend ($99 value) and more surprises!
Your ticket does NOT cover hotel or flight. You can book those separately at your own convenience. Once you register for the retreat, you will receive the code for the hotel block. Rooms are usually single or double occupancy. If you’d like to have more than 2 people per room, it will usually incur a separate fee. For budgeting purposes, our hotel usually runs about $150 + fees per night.
I want to come but am not sure if I can afford it.
The non-refundable deposit option was created to reduce the cost barrier by spreading out your payments. The $99 deposit guarantees your space at the retreat. (You are, of course, welcome to pay your ticket in full.)
Also, keep in mind that this is a four-day retreat that is a fraction of the cost of comparable events. (Most run, on average, about $700-$1000 without factoring in transportation or lodging.) We are able to offer a lower cost due to the generosity of sponsors, so please be sure to support them!
This retreat is the opportunity for you to check in with yourself, get clarity on areas of life that stress you out, and meet women who, moving forward, can be part of your support network. What will you miss out on if you don’t make this investment in yourself?
Will I have any free time during this retreat or will I be with the group the whole time?
We’ve worked diligently to craft a schedule that gives attendees the best of both worlds: engaging, informative sessions with dynamic speakers who can help you live a happier life and plenty of downtime.
Can my child/partner come with me?
No. As the purpose of this event is to give women a chance to unwind, childcare will not be provided for guests and we recommend that children stay home with a trusted caregiver. While you may enjoy your boo’s company, we also recommend that they stay at home, so you can focus on yourself.
Is this conference for moms only?
Absolutely not! This conference is for any woman who feels like she needs to take a break and pour into her own mental wellbeing. Doesn’t matter if you’re parenting or childless, there is something for you here.
What is the cancellation policy?
Tickets are nonrefundable but are transferable. If you find that you can no longer use your ticket, please let us know so we can properly anticipate attendance.
